Pre-school age Ballet

(Ages 3 to 5) - A fun environment to learn ballet designed to stimulate creativity while encouraging the learning of proper ballet Terminology . Along with teaching ballet technique, the class will feature, basic motor skills, coordination, creative movement with certain props.

Ballet ages 6 through 11

Children are taught proper classical ballet technique in an atmosphere of encouragement, discipline and warmth. Emphasis is on correct body placement, rhythm activities, and the learning of ballet terminology is taught.

Ballet ages 11 through adult-

This program offers exceptional training for the serious students, as well as those interested in dancing for fun and developing an appreciation of the art of dance.

ages 6 through adult-

Hip-Hop dance is a funk style dance, with the cutting edge of dance that is "hip and happening" that is fresh off the streets. Can be easily described as dance similar to those on music videos. Edited and instrumental music are used in class. Jazz classes are a requirement.

Pre-movement class for students ages 2-3

This class encourages the love of dance for toddlers and pre-school age children before they are placed in a class without their Mommy/Daddies. Pre-movement exercises, rhythm games, motor skills, creative movements, and some basic Ballet and Jazz technique steps are learned. Performing is optional, however, most do participate which is encouraged.


Ballet

Ballet ages 6 through 11 Children are taught proper classical ballet technique in an atmosphere of encouragement, discipline and warmth. Ballet ages 11 through adult- This program offers exceptional training for the serious students, as well as those interested in dancing for fun and developing an appreciation of the art of dance. Ballet- ADTC Company Students Classes at this level concentrates on perfecting previous skills, speed, cleanliness of lines, extension, endurance/stamina, multiple pirouettes and preparation on a professional level if so desired.
Attire:		Please have hair in a neat bun, securely bobby pinned so it does not fall out. (older students fake hair scrunchy around bun is preferred, and no bangs.) Pink Tights (older students preferably with the line down the back of the leg- just keep this in mind when buying a new pair), Assigned color leotard, and Pink leather ballet shoes!!


Pointe
Description:		Training on Pointe begins only after strong, comprehensive basic technique has been developed and the feet, back and legs are sufficiently strong. Pointe is taught after years preparation in intermediate ballet classes. Concurrent registration in ballet and permission of the instructor are required
Attire:		Same as ballet, but must have Pointe shoes.


Jazz
Description:		(Ages 3 to adult) A combination of jazz styles are taught: for example the Luigi Style.
Attire:		Hair pulled out of face in a pony tail or a tight up do, Black Leotard, black tights on outside of leotard preferred (I know this seems odd by this is how professional dance companies wear black tights for jazz etc.), and black jazz shoes that lace.


Hip Hop
Description:		ages 6 through adult- Hip-Hop dance is a funk style dance, with the cutting edge of dance that is "hip and happening" that is fresh off the streets. Can be easily described as dance similar to those on music videos. Edited and instrumental music are used in class. Jazz classes are a requirement.
Attire:		Hair pull back in a pony tail or a tight up do. Same attire as Jazz with a black low-top dance sneaker, but you may wear a Jazz pant (Capri or long), and a tight fitting tank top or sport shirts are permitted.


Tap
Description:		Ages 3 to adult) - Traditional techniques are taught using shoes with steel on the ball and heel of the foot. Learn how to make rhythms with your feet, time steps, traveling time steps and other classic tap steps, while working the dancer's small motor skills.
Attire:		Leotards, tights, White tap shoes that tie ages 3-5, Tan tap shoes that buckle ages 6+, Black tap shoes that lace; Company


Modern
Description:		Modern (Ages 6 to adult) This course is based on the Martha Graham technique and other styles are implemented encourages expression and freedom of movement without limitations. Also incorporated in this class is basic gymnastics. Ballet Classes are required.
Attire:		Hair pulled back in a low pony tail, dance paws, any colored leotard and pink convertible tights .


Lyrical
Description:		A free form of Ballet. The movements are not as structured and the dance is usually telling a story from the lyric's of the music. Ballet classes are a requirement.
Attire:		Hair pulled back in a low pony tail, dance paws, any colored leotard and pink convertible tights .


Mommy & Me
